A Christian Missionary sought our expertise to develop MultiLingo, a dynamic web application for efficient translation. This innovative platform allows users to effortlessly translate video, audio, or text files in SRT format into any language, both in audio and text. Users can choose between male and female voices for audio translations, and the straightforward interface simplifies the entire translation process.

Project Objective

Our goal was to build a dynamic web application designed to seamlessly translate video, audio, and text files in SRT format into any language, both in audio and text. We wanted to incorporate unique features like male and female voiceover options, a user-friendly interface, and multiple language options to ensure the platform’s excellence and reliability.

Translating fast-paced sermons or lectures demanded flawless synchronization between transcript and audio, even at breakneck speeds.

Advanced Speech Recognition:

  • Precision at Warp Speed: To make an intuitive and user-friendly interface, we used React.js on the front end. Our developers meticulously researched various speech recognition engines, including those from Google and Microsoft, ultimately crafting a hybrid solution that leveraged the strengths of multiple providers for unparalleled accuracy and speed, even in challenging audio conditions.
  • Temporal Synchronization: To ensure perfect harmony between the translated voice and the original audio or video, we implemented a multi-stage synchronization process that encompassed.
  • Lip Sync Precision: Subtle adjustments to timestamps using advanced tagging techniques and custom-built algorithms ensured precise alignment of the translated audio with lip movements, even in rapid-fire speech.
  • Audio-Visual Harmony: Dynamic break time evaluation within Lambda functions enabled accurate synchronization of audio translations with screenplays, seamlessly adapting to varying playback speeds.

Parallel Processing Power:

  • Conquering Big Files: To overcome the challenge of lengthy translation times for large video files, we employed a multi-threaded approach, splitting files into smaller segments and translating them concurrently using AWS S3 Bucket. Our choice of MongoDB database helped us leverage its schema-less structure to support the diverse video formats, audio, and text SRT files. This parallel processing strategy dramatically reduced translation time, ensuring a swift and efficient user experience.

Custom API Integrations:

  • Seamless Content Upload: We used Node.js on the backend and REST API server communication, ensuring smooth data exchange between frontend and backend. To streamline content upload from YouTube and Drive, we used REST, which effortlessly handled authentication and authorization, eliminating any manual intervention or authentication hurdles. The result? A frictionless experience for users eager to share their content.

Pre-authorized Access for Effortless Uploads:

  • By securely storing Drive authorization tokens upon initial user consent, we effectively eliminated the need for constant re-authentication, making subsequent uploads from Drive a seamless experience.

Unlocking Editability and Review:

  • Tag Sequencing for Refined Edits: To empower users with the ability to review and fine-tune translated content, we implemented cutting-edge tag sequencing techniques, ensuring accurate text segmentation and enabling effortless editing within the translated transcript.
  • SSML Transformation for Enhanced Audio: Converting SRT files to SSML (Speech Synthesis Markup Language) using Lambda functions allowed for precise control over audio output, including voice selection, pronunciation adjustments, and speech pacing, elevating the quality of the generated audio translations.
